Mark Grigalunas, has been designing textiles for the home furnishings industry for over 40 years. Mark graduated from UMass / Dartmouth, where he earned his BFA in Textile Design & Technology. He worked for Cohama Riverdale Mills for 3 years upon graduating before he was approached by Sunbury Textile Mills, Inc. to become Director of Design. Mark later became Senior Vice President of Design. The scope of his position involved all aspects of textile production, from research and development of new yarns and finishes, to overseeing a large staff of designers and developing and reviewing multiple product lines, to marketing and maintaining client relationships and collaborations.

 

Sunbury Textiles was purchased by Glen Raven Mills in the Fall of 2017 where Mark Grigalunas worked as Director of Design Development until February 2019.

 

Having learned to weave on his grandmother’s hand loom at age 10, Mark has always maintained his connection to hand weaving and has owned several looms over the years. The creation of the HF Wovens Studio and his renewed interest in hand weaving has sparked an intense preference to designing on the loom to create new prototypes, weave constructions and designs and then test market them with key clients.
